Carolin's New Hobby

The lovely summer of 2004 came to an abrupt end when Carolin was diagnosed with cancer. What follows are the random thoughts and experiences of the Camerons as Carolin fights back.

Delayed again

I was at the Tom Baker at 8 am this morning to have my blood test done. At 9:30 am the nurse came to tell me that my white count was still at 1.1 and that I couldn't have chemo. Not good news.

As it was my prescription never made it to the pharmacy on Friday so I waited until 11:30 to have Herceptin.

We will do another blood test this Friday and hopefully my count will be up.

It is now 7 pm and I am tired, depressed, frustrated and not in the mood to write.

Maybe tomorrow.

Bye for now. C

Sorry you are having a frustrating time right now. But don't be hard on yourself for having "human" emotions like frustration etc. You have been amazingly patient with this whole thing and you have every right to be upset with it at times. Keep focused on that wonderful holiday you have planned. We think of you continually and I always look at your house as I pass it and wonder what you're doing.
Take care and treat yourself kindly.
(PS Send Sandy to Superstore for some Lindor chocolates in the bulk candy section - they are so soft that they can soothe a savage beast.)

    Hugs, Cheryl Kirkpatrick

    Hi Carolin,
I just attended a conference on new Breast Cancer research drugs. They were discussing a new drug by the company Roche Called Omnitarg. It is used in conjunction with Herceptin. It has been shown to be very effective with HER 2+. Might be something you want to look into. There may be some information posted on www.albertabreast.com. Take care and I will let you know if I hear of any additional information.
    Love Alanna
