Slow but steady recovery
Hi there everyone!!
Well things are slow but going the right direction. The mornings are the best for me when I have the most leg strength (after a coffee that is). I can make it down the stairs from the second floor to the main but not ready to take on the basement stairs yet (concrete landing, no carpet and steeper). Getting up the stairs is better than before but certainly still more difficult. By bed time I use a lot of Sandy's strength to make it up them.
My puffiness from the steroids is still sticking around. Have gain 7 pounds since my big weight loss in the hospital. But sitting around and not getting out doing much walking (Rylie is complaining too) makes the weight gain easy. My hair is still showing up on the vanity which is a real concern to me. I will ask the Dr. when I see him next.
Nothing else on the home front.
Thanks for still reading this blog.
Love Carolin
PS Take the time to go for a nice walk in the fall colored trees for me. Maybe we will try to take my walker or wheelchair to Bowness on the weekend. I think the whole family would enjoy that - and the fact that Sandy always buys Jess and I ice cream. See what I mean about the weight gain - sit in a wheelchair and then have ice cream!!!

Hi Carolin - I'm so glad to hear your feeling better!!!
We used to go to Bowness when we lived in Calgary (was five then) I'm sure it has changed a lot - hope you have a chance to go, the weather is getting a little warmer!
Lots of love, Janet

Hi Carolin,
Thanks for keeping your blog updated. I still check in each week to see how you, Sandy and Jessica are doing. I was sorry to hear about your recent stay in hospital and that you had to cut short your holiday. Glad you are on the mend now and looking forward to Singapore! I hope you will go see the leaves before they all fall off the trees. Can you believe Tony and Jessica are now Grade 3? So grown up. Nicolas has started preshool! The time flies.
Take care,
Lori, Henry, Tony and Nicolas

Hey -- glad to hear (see?) another positive blog entry. Remember the tortoise and the hare -- slow and steady wins the race!! I do hope you get down to Bowness before it gets windy and the leaves are suddenly gone! We lost a LOT of leaves just last weekend, here in Edmonton. But then again, even if some leaves are gone, the ice cream part sounds like it would still be worth it. Ice cream that some one else scoops is always so much yummier than ice cream from home. Then again, ice cream at home is pretty darn good too. Too bad I'M not the one trying to gain weight -- I'm very good at it!! Take care and enjoy the fall colours, Rebecca
